ONE-TIME HELP · NO CALL NEEDED

Know what to charge and how much you can discount.

Know what each sale leaves after its direct costs. We calculate price options and discount limits for the minimum amount you choose, prepare rules for staff and help you put them into use. The amount left still has to help pay rent and other business costs: it is not the business’s final profit. Finding the best price for your market also needs evidence of what customers will buy.

Up to 20 items to calculate, for one business, one currency and up to two locations. Count an item again if its location, selling channel or costs differ.

What your result could look like

These examples use made-up figures, not customer results.

The problem

Can a seller give 10% off a $100 item and still leave at least $15 after direct sale costs?

What the numbers show

10% off leaves $17.30 per sale. The highest allowed discount is 12.37%.

DiscountSale price3% feeLeft after costs
0.00%$100.00$3.00$27.00
10.00%$90.00$2.70$17.30
12.37%$87.63$2.63$15.00
12.38%$87.62$2.63$14.99

A 10% discount leaves $9.70 less per item than selling at full price. This amount still has to help pay rent and other business costs; it is not net profit.

What to do

Ready-to-use seller rule: For this item, you may give up to 10% off. Never combine offers or sell below $87.63. Discounts above 10% need owner approval and must stay at or below 12.37%. Recalculate the limit if costs or fees change.

How to check what happens

After 14 days of using the rule, check receipts, actual fees, returns, units sold and the total left after sale costs. Compare with a similar period at full price. More sales alone do not prove more profit; too few sales mean the result is unclear.

Assumptions: One item per sale; total direct costs $70; fee 3% of the actual sale price; no extra sale costs or tax adjustments in this example. Price and fee each round to the nearest cent, half up. Discounts use steps of 0.01 percentage point. The owner chooses the $15 minimum. Demand is unknown.

What to prepare

  • Each item or service: its name or code, where you sell it, what one unit means, current price and purchase or production cost.
  • Delivery, packaging, fees and expected costs of returns. Show costs for one item and one order separately. Use zero only if there is no cost.
  • Which taxes are included or can be reclaimed, the minimum amount you want left from a sale and any discount limits. We also need stock numbers before suggesting an offer.
Download an example of the records we need

The first check asks what records you have. Financial records are checked separately through an agreed protected channel.

When you get it and what you need to do

Planned: a checked decision within 4 hours. Time depends on complexity and starts after we confirm your order and check the records we need. We agree the final deadline before payment and send the result as soon as checks are complete. Your order will show the start, deadline and timezone.

This is a planned target while paid orders are closed. Help applying the decision and the later check happen afterwards. The target is for a checked decision, not a promise of higher profit within that time.

Plan for about 25–45 minutes of your time to gather records you already have, answer questions and check the result. Putting the changes in place may take more time, which we will agree with you. This is an estimate; it is not based on measured client times.

If records are missing, we tell you which work must wait and agree on a new date.

What the price includes

  • Check your records and list important gaps or differences.
  • Explain the decision, prepare the files you need and help you or your staff put the agreed changes into use.
  • Answer one set of questions you send within 7 calendar days of delivery.
  • We check once, 14 calendar days after you confirm the changes are in use. If you have not confirmed this within 30 days of receiving the files, we check what is holding things up instead. We say when there are too few sales to judge the result.

Fixing a major error in our work does not use up your set of questions.

What is not included

  • Rebuilding old accounts or finding missing costs for you.
  • Changing your checkout prices without permission, researching the whole market or predicting that a discount will bring more buyers.

For a job beyond this scope, choose a smaller task or ask for a separate quote. We agree the work, price and deadline before you buy.

Fixes, cancellations and refunds — proposed terms

Contact hello@crlreports.com with your order reference and the file that has the problem. We will reply within 2 business days and send a plan to fix it within 3 business days. We aim to fix a major error within 5 business days, or by another date we agree with you.

If you cancel before the agreed work starts, we refund the full amount CRL received. If a major error by CRL makes the result unusable and we do not fix it by the agreed date, we refund the full price of that service. See your other options for cancellations and missing records in the proposed terms. Your legal rights still apply.
